Summer Reading - My Top Ten List....for now

My daughters recently posted their top 10 summer reading list which got me to thinking about doing one of my own. As I jotted down some of my recent favorites I realized my list is constantly changing......so this is it for today! You'll see it has a mix of fiction and non-fiction, I've usually got one of each in progress. Happy Reading!

Take Time to Be Kind!

If you’re like me you can get lost in your busy day, just trying to get all your work done and make it home to collapse. Recently, during my prayer time, the Lord has been speaking to me about slowing down and taking time to minister to others around me, extending small kindnesses to encourage in an otherwise despairing world.

I remember when others have done this for me, moments which stand out from the routine. A card slipped under my door letting me know someone cares, chocolate left anonymously on my desk during a stressful day or just a smile passing in the hall. These small gestures make a huge difference and expend little energy to offer, but they do require us to look up from our self centered world and notice our fellow man.

I’m going commit to at least one of these acts a day, want to join me? Take time to be kind!
